shop tour...bobo kids

Last month I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to London and Paris.  It was so much fun and I wish I could go back.  While I was there I visited four of the best children's shops in London and one in Paris!  The shop owners were kind enough to let me photograph their beautiful spaces and I'm so happy and excited to share them with you.

The first shop I visited was Bobo Kids.  Niloufar Bakhtiar-Clignet and Julie Hamon are the owners of this light, open, and well edited space.  When I entered the shop I couldn't contain my excitement! Each vignette is designed to look like a beautifully decorated children's room.

The shop was inspired by the well known french term Bourgeois Boheme, and means people create an individual and carefree style, I love that!  Julie and Niloufar found it difficult to find stylish and tasteful homewares in the UK for their kids.  This prompted the launch of their shop in September of 2008. They believe that children's rooms can blend in with the rest of the home (I couldn't agree more).

Bobo Kids also offers interior design services for customers.  They will create a beautifully designed space using items sourced by bobo kids.  Some of these items are:  Tulp storage cabinets (I want one or three), Ouef furniture, bedding made with Liberty of London textiles, Tamar Mogendorff's sewn art, Lulu and Nat pillows, and baby lapin lamps.

Not only do they sell amazing furniture and accessories for children, they also have 3-4 art exhibits a year featuring up and coming artists from around the world.  These artists include:  Corinne Charton, Mathilde de L'ecotais, Yann Sciberras, Estelle Stephens, and Robert Holden.  They just launched the latest exhibition by US artist Robert Geers which will run until the end of July.  The next exhibit will be in September.

If you are lucky enough to live in or are traveling to London I highly recommend a visit to Bobo Kids.  If a trip to London isn't in your near future you can visit their online shop here. Thanks again to Julie and Niloufar and the fabulous job they are doing bringing beautiful design to children.

Stay tuned next Wednesday I'll be featuring another great shop from my trip to London.
